Cagliari-Elmas Airport is located on the edge of the Santa Gilla lagoon, about a quarter of an hour from the city center. If you're spending your first few days in the city, consider having the car delivered to your hotel: traffic is limited in the historic center, and you'll need a car primarily for trips outside Cagliari.
