Malpensa has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Before your arrival, we'll arrange a meeting point with you based on your terminal and flight schedule, so the car will be waiting for you when you leave with your luggage.
Please let us know your flight number and landing time; if your flight changes, let us know and we'll reschedule your appointment accordingly. If you're traveling with a lot of luggage or sports equipment, let us know in advance so we can offer you a model with sufficient space.
Malpensa is Northern Italy's main intercontinental airport, with direct connections to North America, the Middle East, and Asia. After a long flight, it may be easier not to drive straight away: you can reach your hotel by taxi or train and collect your car the next day.
Those coming from far away and planning a stay on the lakes or in the mountains can instead pick up their car immediately and head north, avoiding the traffic in the urban area.
The airport is located about 50 km from the center of Milan . The drive usually takes less than an hour, but can be longer during rush hour, especially on weekday mornings and late afternoons. The historic center has a limited traffic zone: if you're staying in the city center, it may be more convenient to have your car picked up directly at your hotel rather than at the airport.
Malpensa is very close to Lake Maggiore, which can be reached in about half an hour by car. It's also a good base for Lake Como , about an hour's drive away, without having to travel through Milan. Lake Maggiore is home to towns like Stresa and Arona, and the Borromean Islands can be visited by boat.
For the narrow roads that run along the lakes and up towards the villas, a compact SUV or an agile sports car are more comfortable than a very large car.
The Swiss border is just a short distance away. Lugano can be reached in about an hour, while Zurich takes about three hours. Switzerland is not part of the European Union: have your documents ready.
To use Swiss motorways, you need a vignette: it's electronic and valid for an annual period, and can be purchased online by indicating your license plate before crossing the border.
From Malpensa, you can also reach the ski resorts of Switzerland and the Aosta Valley. In the winter, all our cars are equipped with winter tires, and for groups with skis and lots of luggage, a Mercedes V-Class van is available.
If you're arriving on a European flight and staying in the city center, consider Milan Linate Airport , which is much closer. We can also deliver your car to Malpensa and pick it up at Linate, or vice versa. For a trip that starts on the lakes and ends in the city, this combination avoids having to return to the arrival airport.
