The airport is located in Lavacolla, about a quarter of an hour from the city center, and is much smaller than those in major cities. Cars can also be delivered to those arriving on private flights: please let us know your flight details and who will be assisting you upon arrival in advance.

Cambados is the center of Albariño wine; the island of A Toxa, accessible by car across a bridge, is home to spa hotels; Combarro preserves its hórreos, stone granaries overlooking the water. Pontevedra, with a largely pedestrianized historic center, is about 50 minutes away; Vigo, Galicia's most populous city, is just a little further south.
To the north, A Coruña is about an hour away. The Tower of Hercules, a still-functioning Roman lighthouse, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the houses with white glass galleries overlooking the harbor are the city's landmark.
Cape Finisterre, about an hour and a half away, was considered the end of the known world in ancient times, and many pilgrims continue on here after Santiago. The lighthouse overlooks the open ocean, and at sunset the tip fills with visitors.
The Costa da Morte alternates cliffs, lighthouses, and small fishing ports. The roads are winding, and the Atlantic weather changes quickly: drive slowly, especially in rain or fog.
The region is green because it rains frequently, and many secondary roads are narrow. On sunny days, especially in summer, a sporty car like the Porsche 911 (992) S Coupé is a pleasure to drive on the bends along the estuaries.
For a tour of the Albariño wineries, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van can carry the entire group in one vehicle and has room for plenty of luggage: decide in advance who will drive and forgo the tastings.
The Portuguese border, along the Miño River, is about an hour and a quarter away, and Porto can be reached in about two and a half hours. If you plan to cross into Portugal or leave your car there, please let us know when booking.
