Alicante-Elche Airport is approximately fifteen to twenty minutes from the city center. When you book, let us know your flight and estimated arrival time. The car will be waiting for you in Arrivals or at a location we agree on. At the end of your stay, you can leave it here before leaving, or in another city.
We also deliver to hotels in Alicante, to villas on the hills of Jávea, Moraira, and Altea, and to coastal marinas if you arrive by yacht. For villas on private, uphill roads, please provide the exact address, a landmark, and instructions for the gate. Since several Spanish cities have introduced low-emission zones, please also let us know where you will be driving when booking.
Altea, about fifty minutes from Alicante, is a village of white houses nestled on a hill overlooking the sea. At the top, the church with its blue ceramic domes overlooks cobbled streets lined with art galleries and terraced restaurants. The old town can be explored on foot: leave your car in the lower part, near the seafront.
A few kilometers north, Calpe is recognizable from afar thanks to the Peñón de Ifach, a rock rising from the sea next to the port and protected as a natural park. The trail to the top is challenging, but even the initial stretch offers beautiful views of the bay. In the port, restaurants serve fish landed by local fishing boats.
Jávea lies beneath the Montgó massif; it takes about an hour and a quarter from Alicante. The bay has a harbor, a promenade, and Arenal Beach, while Cape San Antonio and Cape la Nao offer panoramic views of the open sea. The hills are covered with villas, like those around Moraira, a small port just to the south.
The roads connecting the capes are narrow and winding: take your time, stopping at the scenic spots. Ferries to the Balearic Islands depart from Dénia, just north of Jávea; if your journey continues to Ibiza , leave your car here and find another on the island.
About an hour from Alicante, Guadalest is a mountain village built on a rock, entered through a passage carved into the stone. From above, you can see the ruins of the castle and a reservoir with blue-green water. The road leading up from the coast winds through olive groves and orchards.
The town is small and fills up with organized groups during the peak hours. Arrive in the morning or late afternoon and leave your car in the parking lots at the entrance.
Elche is about twenty minutes from Alicante, with the airport roughly halfway there. The city is known for its Palmeral, a system of date palm gardens of Arab origin, a UNESCO World Heritage site: tens of thousands of trees grow in and around the city center, irrigated by ancient canals.
The most visited garden is the Huerto del Cura, home to the Imperial Palm, with several trunks growing from a single base. Given its proximity to the airport, the visit is a good fit for either the day of arrival or departure.
Between Altea, Calpe, and Jávea, a convertible like the Ferrari F8 Spider or the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder, from the supercar range , makes even short trips enjoyable. For hillside villas, with steep ramps and private entrances, an SUV like the Porsche Cayenne S Coupé, the Audi Q8, or the Mercedes-AMG G63 is more suitable.
If you're traveling with kids and lots of luggage, the seven-seater Land Rover Defender 110 lets you all travel together. For a group traveling from the airport to a villa, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van is a good choice: it offers space for a group or a family with lots of luggage.
From Alicante, the motorway leads north to Valencia , about an hour and 45 minutes away, and south to Murcia , about an hour away. Madrid can be reached in about four hours. Picking up your car in Alicante and returning it elsewhere, even across the border, saves you having to retrace your steps on the way back.
Winters are mild and sunny, so the coast is also popular from October to April with those seeking a warm climate. In July and August, beaches and coastal roads are crowded, and parking in towns is scarce: get out early in the morning. May, June, and September combine warm seas and lighter traffic.
