Barcelona by Luxury Car: Practical Rental Tips

Where we deliver the car to you

We deliver the car to your hotel on Passeig de Gràcia or in the Eixample district, to a waterfront hotel, to a villa in the upper part of the city like Pedralbes, or even to the port if you're arriving or departing by yacht. We'll meet you at the agreed-upon time and we'll do a quick check of the car together.

We can collect the car at another location: the airport, another Spanish city, or France. If your plans change during your stay, you can let us know your new drop-off location.

Getting to Barcelona

Barcelona-El Prat Airport is about twenty to twenty-five minutes from the city center. We can meet you at arrivals with your car ready, or we can deliver it to your hotel if you prefer to arrive by taxi. Those arriving by cruise ship or boat can collect their car directly at the port, either at Port Vell near the city center or at Port Olímpic on the seafront.

Driving in the city and parking

The Eixample has a regular grid of streets, many one-way, with frequent traffic lights. The Gothic Quarter and the Born district have narrow, largely pedestrianized streets, best explored on foot. The city has a low-emission zone and a limited-traffic center: hotel delivery removes any doubt.

There are numerous public underground parking lots, and upscale hotels usually offer garages or valet parking. For dinner in the city center, often after 9 pm, as is customary in Spain, it may be more convenient to take a taxi and leave your car at the hotel.

Montjuïc, Tibidabo and the city of Gaudí

Montjuïc Hill is a scenic drive that passes the Miró Foundation and the National Art Museum of Catalonia. Tibidabo, the mountain behind the city, offers the most expansive views of Barcelona and the sea, especially at sunset.

The Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera are in the Eixample district and can be visited on foot or by taxi. Park Güell is higher up, on the hill, and is easily reached by taxi: a car is especially useful for getting out of the city.

Which car for Catalonia

The Garraf coastal road to Sitges, with its curves overlooking the sea, is perfect for a convertible: a Ferrari Roma Spider, Ferrari F8 Spider, or Porsche 911 (992) 4S Cabriolet, from our range of supercars . For trips inland and to the Costa Brava with family and luggage, an SUV like the Range Rover Sport or the BMW X7 40d is best.

For groups of friends, for an event or for a visit to the wineries there is the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van , with space for a group or a family with lots of luggage.

Day trips

Sitges, with its beaches and historic center overlooking the sea, is about forty minutes away. The Montserrat Monastery, nestled among the distinctively shaped mountains, can be reached in about an hour. The Penedès region, home to cava, is about forty-five minutes away and is easy to explore between wineries.

To the north, Girona, with its Jewish quarter, is about an hour and a quarter away. The Costa Brava offers coves and seaside towns such as Tossa de Mar, about an hour and a quarter away, and Cadaqués, over two hours away. The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres is about an hour and three-quarters away.

Longer journeys

Valencia is about three and a half hours away by highway, and Madrid is about six hours. The French border is less than two hours away: from there, you can continue towards Provence and the Côte d'Azur, with the option of leaving your car in France.

The best season

May, June, September, and October are the most pleasant months, with warm seas and fewer crowds. In July and August, the city and the coast are very busy, and traffic to the beaches increases. In winter, the climate remains mild in the cities, while in the Pyrenees, our cars always have winter tires.
