We can deliver your car to your hotel, private residence, or business meeting. If you're arriving by train, the most convenient location is Berlin Hauptbahnhof, the central station near the government district.
Those arriving by plane land at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), southeast of the city. Provide us with your flight number and landing time, and the car will be delivered to you in the arrivals area or at another location we agree on.
Berlin is very large, and the most famous sights are far from each other. It's best to dedicate each day to one area: the historic center around the Brandenburg Gate, the western part along Kurfürstendamm, the lakes, and Potsdam to the southwest.
In the historic center, a car is primarily used for getting to and from the hotel: leave it in the hotel parking lot or in a public underground garage and continue on foot. Some cities in Germany have low-emission zones, so when you book, please let us know where you plan to drive.
The Brandenburg Gate, symbol of the reunified city, overlooks Pariser Platz, a pedestrian square. From here, the Unter den Linden avenue leads to Museum Island in about a twenty-minute walk, passing the State Opera and Humboldt University.
Museum Island, on the Spree River, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and brings together five major museums alongside the Berlin Cathedral. The Neues Museum houses the bust of Nefertiti, while the Alte Nationalgalerie is dedicated to 19th-century painting and sculpture. Plan at least half a day and buy tickets in advance.
Kurfürstendamm is the main shopping boulevard in the western part of the city, with international fashion and designer stores. At the beginning of the boulevard, the Memorial Church, left partly in ruins after the war, is one of the most photographed sites. Not far away, the KaDeWe department store dedicates an entire floor to food and beverages.
For a day of shopping, an SUV with a large trunk, such as the Range Rover or Audi Q8, is useful: the bags stay in the car while you continue your shopping.
Potsdam is about a half-hour to an hour's drive away, depending on traffic and your starting point. Sanssouci Park, featuring Frederick the Great's summer palace, the vineyard terraces, and the New Palace, is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site that includes palaces and gardens in Potsdam and Berlin.
While in the city, the Dutch Quarter, with its red brick houses, and the Cecilienhof, where the Potsdam Conference was held in 1945, are worth a visit. One of the roads leading there runs through the Grunewald forest, past Lake Wannsee, and over the Glienicke Bridge, where spy exchanges took place during the Cold War.
About an hour and a quarter southeast, the Spreewald is an area of canals and woods visited by boat, on vessels propelled with a long pole. Dresden, with the reconstructed Frauenkirche and the Zwinger, is about two hours away and deserves a full day or overnight stay.
From Dresden, the journey continues for about two hours to Prague : the trip can be turned into a one-way trip, with the car returned in the Czech Republic. Similarly, you can continue on to Hamburg or Munich , or to Vienna or Italy, without returning to Berlin.
Berlin is home to the federal government, embassies, and many tech companies. For days of meetings in different parts of the city, an SUV like the Audi Q7 or the Mercedes GLE 350de Coupé, or the sporty yet understated Audi RS6, are convenient.
For delegations and work groups, there's the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van , with space for a group or a family with lots of luggage. It's convenient for reaching Messe Berlin, the trade fair grounds in the western part of the city, and for the evenings of the Berlinale, the film festival held every February.
From May to September, the Porsche 911 (992) 4S Cabriolet can be driven along the tree-lined roads to Potsdam and the lakes with the top down. In the winter months, all of our vehicles have winter tires; on wet or snowy roads, the Mercedes-AMG G63, among our SUVs , is a comfortable choice.
You don't need a vignette to drive on German autobahns. On some stretches of highway, there is no general speed limit, but posted speed limits and roadworks are frequent.
