Düsseldorf Airport is located near the city, to the north, and just minutes from the exhibition center: it's a convenient location for both vacationers and trade fair attendees. When booking, please provide your flight number and arrival time, and we'll decide together whether to meet at the arrivals desk or elsewhere.
We can also deliver to the main train station, your hotel, your office, or the entrance to the trade fair. Many high-end hotels are located on Königsallee or nearby, others along the Rhine and in the MedienHafen.
The Düsseldorf Exhibition Center hosts international events that attract exhibitors and visitors from around the world. During these weeks, the city's hotels fill up, and many guests stay in Cologne or nearby cities. It's a good idea to book your car along with your hotel, well in advance.
For a delegation, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van transports everyone together from the hotel to the pavilions and back, with room for a group or a family with lots of luggage. For a manager traveling alone between meetings and business dinners, the Mercedes GLE 350de Coupé or the Maserati Grecale offer a quiet interior, even suitable for business phone calls. The two solutions can also be combined: the van for group travel, a car for those with separate appointments.
Königsallee, simply called Kö, runs along a tree-lined canal: on one side are designer boutiques, on the other banks and offices. At the northern end, the Kö-Bogen complex combines shops and contemporary architecture, next to the Hofgarten park.
For shopping, leave your car at your hotel or in one of the city center's underground parking lots and continue on foot. If you're planning a lot of shopping, an SUV with a large trunk like the Range Rover or Audi Q7 is more practical than a coupé. Not far away, around Immermannstraße, lies one of Europe's largest Japanese communities, with restaurants, bakeries, and specialty shops.
The Altstadt, the old town, squeezes dozens of bars into just a few streets, so much so that it's been called "the longest bar in the world." This is where Altbier, the local dark beer, is served in historic breweries. From the old town, the Rhine promenade, built over a road tunnel, leads south to the MedienHafen.
The MedienHafen, the former port transformed into a district of offices, restaurants, and hotels, is known for its three undulating buildings designed by Frank Gehry. Next door stands the Rheinturm, the telecommunications tower that dominates the city skyline. In the evening, a stroll along the Rhine is the easiest way to get from the old town to the port's restaurants.
Cologne is about forty minutes away on the highway and is perfect for a half-day visit to the cathedral and museums. In the south of the city, Benrath Castle is an eighteenth-century pleasure palace with a large park overlooking the Rhine. To the north, the Kaiserswerth district preserves the ruins of the imperial palace expanded by Barbarossa on the riverbank.
These are short journeys, even suitable for a compact sports car like the BMW M2 or the Audi RS3, and easy to park in historic districts.
Düsseldorf is close to the Dutch border. Roermond, with its large fashion outlet, can be reached in less than an hour; Maastricht, with its historic center on the Meuse, is about an hour and a half away. Amsterdam is about two and a half to three hours away, depending on traffic, and Brussels about two and a half hours.
Before you leave, let us know your itinerary: some cities, in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, have low-emission zones. You can leave your car in Amsterdam or another European city, such as Paris , without having to go back.
For trips to the Netherlands or Belgium, the Audi RS6 offers a spacious trunk and a comfortable cabin for hours on the road; the Range Rover Sport is the alternative for those who prefer a luxury SUV . For an evening on the Kö or a summer weekend along the Rhine, a Ferrari F8 Spider makes even a short trip special.
In Germany, there are stretches of motorway without a general speed limit, but speed limits and roadworks are very common around the region's major cities: plan ahead. During the cold season, every vehicle in the fleet runs on winter tyres. Further useful information can be found on the Germany page.
