Why rent a luxury car in Modena - Maranello?

Modena and Maranello are the beating heart of the Motor Valley, the region that gave birth to Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Pagani. You don't just come here to see the cars: you come to experience them, between the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, the Enzo Ferrari Museum in the city, and the opportunity to drive the same roads where these brands were born.

Luxury car rental in Modena and Maranello: a guide to the Motor Valley

Where we deliver the car to you

We'll deliver the car to your hotel in Modena, a hotel in Maranello, a villa in the hills, or the airport. During the meeting, we'll check the condition of the car together and leave you with the keys and documents.

We can collect the car in another city, for example Bologna or Milan , or in another European country.

How to get there

The closest airport is Bologna, about forty minutes from Modena. Milan is about two hours away by highway, while from Milan Malpensa it takes about two and a half hours. Maranello is located about twenty minutes south of Modena, at the foot of the Apennines.

Two museums, two different places

The Ferrari Museum is located in Maranello, a short distance from the brand's factory. It showcases the brand's road cars, Formula 1 single-seaters, and its racing history.

The Enzo Ferrari Museum is located in Modena, near the train station, and was built around the founder's birthplace, flanked by a modern exhibition pavilion. The two locations are separate but can be visited on the same day. For opening hours and tickets, see the official websites.

Both museums have parking nearby, so you can drive there directly with your rental car. In Maranello, along the main road, there are also shops selling Ferrari-related items and clothing.

The Motor Valley

This part of Emilia is known as Motor Valley for its concentration of car and motorcycle brands. Besides Ferrari, nearby are Lamborghini headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, with its museum, Pagani in San Cesario sul Panaro, and Maserati in Modena. Ducati is headquartered in Bologna's Borgo Panigale district.

The region's racetracks, such as Imola and Misano, host races throughout the year. The easiest way to experience this area behind the wheel, however, is on the hilly roads around Maranello and the Apennine passes, which should be taken at a leisurely pace.

Which car to rent here

Arriving at the Ferrari Museum behind the wheel of a Ferrari F8 Tributo, an F8 Spider, or a Roma Spider has a special meaning. You'll find them in our supercar lineup , along with the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder, a natural choice for a visit to Sant'Agata.

For those traveling with family or colleagues, an SUV like the Lamborghini Urus or Maserati Grecale combines space with a connection to the local area, as Lamborghini and Maserati are based in this area. For groups, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van offers space for a group or a family with lots of luggage.

Modena and its cuisine

Modena's city center, with the Duomo, the Ghirlandina Tower, and Piazza Grande, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a limited traffic zone (ZTL): it's best to leave your car at the hotel and walk. The hills surrounding the city are home to many vinegar factories, where traditional balsamic vinegar is produced, aged for years in wooden barrels. Many offer tours by appointment.

The area is also home to Parmigiano Reggiano, with dairies that can usually be visited in the morning, and Lambrusco. A tour of the vinegar factories and dairies can easily be combined with a visit to the museums.

A day between Modena and Maranello

A simple plan: in the morning, the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena, followed by a stroll through the city center and lunch of tortellini and prosciutto. In the afternoon, the road south leads to Maranello, where you can visit the Ferrari Museum and take some photos in front of the factory's historic entrance on Via Abetone Inferiore.

Those with time can continue along the roads that climb toward Pavullo nel Frignano and the Apennines: winding roads, woods, and little traffic on weekdays. For a visit to a vinegar factory, it's best to plan a separate day.

From Modena, you can reach Bologna in about forty minutes and Parma in about fifty. Verona and Lake Garda are about an hour and a half away, and Florence is less than two hours away via the Apennines. If your journey continues, you can leave your car in the city you arrive in.

When to come

Spring and autumn are the best times to drive in the hills. In summer, the plains are warm, while in winter, fog can be frequent: our cars always have winter tires on during that season.
