Munich Airport is located northeast of the city, about forty minutes from the center. Please let us know your flight number and landing time when booking. We'll meet you at arrivals or another pre-arranged location, and from there you can proceed straight to your hotel or the mountains.
If you arrive by train, we can meet you at Munich Central Station. In the city, your car can be dropped off at your hotel, your home, or the office where you're having a meeting: Munich is home to the headquarters of major corporations like BMW, Siemens, and Allianz, as well as the Messe München, the trade fair center in the Riem district, east of the city center.
North of the city center, next to the BMW office tower, are the BMW Welt, the exhibition space where customers pick up their new cars, and the BMW Museum, dedicated to the brand's history in automobiles and motorcycles. Across the street is the Olympiapark, built for the 1972 Olympics, with lawns, a lake, and a panoramic hill.
If you want to stay on theme, you can choose a BMW from our fleet: the BMW M2, among our sports cars , or the BMW X5 30d if you are travelling with the family.
Nymphenburg Palace, the summer residence of the Wittelsbachs, is located west of the city center and is surrounded by a large park with canals and pavilions. In the former stables, the Carriage Museum displays carriages and sleighs of Bavarian rulers, including those of Ludwig II.
For shopping, there's Maximilianstraße, the street lined with high-end boutiques, which starts at the National Theater, home to the Bavarian State Opera. The heart of the historic center is a pedestrian zone: leave your car in the hotel garage and continue on foot. Several German cities have low-emission zones: please let us know where you'll be driving when booking.
Lake Starnberg is about a half-hour southwest. Its shores are lined with villas, small harbors, and a cross in the water marking the spot where Ludwig II died. Tegernsee, about an hour south, is surrounded by mountains, with elegant villages and traditional breweries.
Further east, about an hour away, on the Chiemsee, lies Herrenchiemsee Island, home to the palace that Ludwig II built, inspired by Versailles. It can be reached by boat from Prien, where your car is parked. In summer, for these lake and hillside excursions, you can opt for an open-top supercar like the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder.
Neuschwanstein Castle is about a two-hour drive away. Interior tours have a fixed entry time and are best booked in advance. Park your car in the parking lot in the village of Hohenschwangau, at the foot of the castle. The climb up can be done on foot, by shuttle bus, or by carriage. A short detour takes you to the Wieskirche, a Rococo church and UNESCO World Heritage site.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, about an hour and a quarter away, lies at the foot of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, which can be reached by cable car. In winter, it's a ski resort; in summer, it's a base for hiking. In winter, our cars always come with winter tires; in snow, an SUV, such as the Land Rover Defender 110 or the Range Rover Sport, is more comfortable.
Austria is nearby: Salzburg can be reached in about an hour and a half, and Innsbruck in about two hours . Before entering the Austrian motorway, you need a vignette, also available in a digital version. In Germany, however, cars do not have to pay a vignette. On German motorways, there are stretches without a general speed limit, but signposted speed limits and roadworks are frequent.
Many trips begin in Munich and end in a Tyrolean town like Kitzbühel . Others descend into Italy via the Brenner Pass and end in Cortina, on Lake Garda, or in Milan, where we pick up the car again.
Oktoberfest takes place on the Theresienwiese between the second half of September and early October. During those weeks, hotels fill up, traffic around the festival grounds is heavy, and the most popular cars must be booked well in advance.
For evenings in the tents, the most sensible option is to leave the car at the hotel and reach the Theresienwiese by public transportation: no one should drink and drive. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class van , with space for a group or family with lots of luggage, is useful for arriving in the city and for delegations coming for a trade fair.
