Class V in St. Moritz: Transfers and days in Engadine for the whole group

Why a van in Engadine?

A vacation in St. Moritz, for a family or a group of friends, brings with it a lot of luggage: snow gear, skis, boots, and suitcases for the evening. The Mercedes V300d 4Matic Extra Long has room for a group or family with lots of luggage, and the 4Matic version is designed to safely tackle mountain roads.

In Engadin, the distances between resorts are short, but the days are full: morning skiing, lunch at the top, walks by the lake, dinner at a hotel in the valley. Having a van at your disposal means moving the entire group in a single trip, without having to coordinate multiple cars or wait for a taxi.

How to get there: passes open and closed in winter

In winter, St. Moritz can be reached by car via the Julier Pass, from Chur and Zurich, or via the Maloja Pass, which connects the Engadine with Chiavenna and thus with Italy. Both are open year-round, except for temporary closures due to snow. The Albula Pass, however, remains closed during the winter months.

From Milan , it takes about three and a half hours via Chiavenna and Maloja. From Zurich, the journey is about three hours via the Julier Pass. Another option, useful if there's heavy snow on the passes, is the Vereina car shuttle train between Klosters and the Lower Engadine. Our cars are always equipped with winter tires.

Arrivals by private jet in Samedan

Those traveling by private plane often land at Samedan Airport, just minutes from St. Moritz. The van can be delivered there: the group loads their luggage and quickly reaches the hotel or chalet. The return trip is organized in the same way, returning the van to the airport at the end of the stay.

If you're arriving in Zurich or Milan on a scheduled flight, we can deliver the van to the airport. The road to the Engadine is mountainous: after an intercontinental flight, consider getting a night's rest before leaving, and check the weather and mountain passes before setting off.

Evenings and trips in the valley

In the evening, between St. Moritz, Celerina, Pontresina, and Sils, people often go to dinner at a hotel or mountain restaurant. The roads can be snowy and dark, and driving after dinner requires caution: decide before you set out who will drive back, so the group leaves and returns together.

During the day, the van is convenient for reaching the departure points of ski lifts, such as those of Corviglia, or the winter hiking trails around Lake Silvaplana and Lake Sils. In summer, the same routes become cycling and hiking excursions, with all your gear carried on board.

Delivery and collection in St. Moritz

We deliver the van to your hotel, chalet, Samedan Airport, or any other address in the Engadine. Pickup is also possible at a different location: for example, you can arrive from Milan and drop off the van in Zurich, or vice versa. Remember that Swiss highways require an electronic vignette, which you can purchase online by entering your license plate.

Alternatives in the fleet

If you prefer an SUV, the seven-seater Land Rover Defender 110 is ideal for carrying large families and equipment to the mountains. For a couple, the Mercedes-AMG G63 or the Range Rover combine all-wheel drive and comfort. Find all models among the luxury SUVs and luxury vans .
