THE MOST REQUESTED CARS

Saint Moritz for non-skiers

In Saint Moritz, a non-skiing day is full: the Via Serlas with its boutiques, strolls on the frozen lake, the Bernina Express train to Alp Grüm, and, in February, horse races on the snow at White Turf. Pontresina and Sils offer peaceful winter trails, and in Val Roseg and Val Fex, you can even take a horse-drawn carriage ride. In the evening, you can reach the valley's restaurants by car or van without waiting for taxis, which are hard to find during peak weeks.

Reservation and cancellation

Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before delivery, and the model you book is always guaranteed: you'll receive the exact car you chose.

Where we deliver in winter

We deliver and collect our vehicles from Alpine resorts in France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, as well as from hotels, chalets, and airports. Below are just a few of the locations we deliver to.

Luxury car rental in St. Moritz: how to get there and what you need

How do you get there, really?

Saint Moritz is located at 1800 meters in the Engadine Valley , and the road is part of the experience. It's about three hours from Zurich , three and a half hours from Milan Malpensa via Chiavenna and the Maloja Pass , and three hours from Innsbruck . The other two access points are the Julier Pass from Chur and the Bernina Pass from Tirano.

In winter, the passes can be closed due to snow. The alternative, which almost no foreign customers know about, is the Vereina shuttle train between Klosters and Sagliains: the car boards the train, passes through the tunnel, and descends into the Engadine. When the weather is unpredictable, this is the route we recommend, and we organize it ourselves.

The right car for the Engadine

It's not a matter of taste here. Winter tires and all-wheel drive are essential : a luxury SUV can handle the passes and ramps of hotel garages without a care. For families and groups with skis and luggage, a luxury van is the most sensible solution. Supercars make sense here in the summer, when the Maloja, Julier, and Bernina routes become some of the most beautiful driving routes in Europe.

The calendar that fills the town

Between Christmas and Epiphany and throughout February , St. Moritz is fully booked. Added to this are the events on the frozen lake—the Snow Polo World Cup in January and the White Turf , horse racing on snow, in February—which alone fill entire weeks. For those dates, availability must be booked many months in advance.

From Saint Moritz

Davos is an hour and a half away, Lugano two and a half, Milan three and a half, and Zurich three. We deliver and collect in all these directions: many customers arrive by train on the Bernina Express and find their car in town.

If you come from abroad

Switzerland is not a member of the European Union : you'll need a passport or other identification document, in addition to your driving license, and a highway vignette, which is electronic and can be purchased online by entering your license plate. Requirements for non-EU customers are listed in the guide to documents, security deposit, and insurance.

Arriving by private jet: Samedan airport

Just minutes from the village is the Engadine Airport in Samedan: at 1707 meters, it is one of the highest airports in Europe. It operates without scheduled flights and is reserved for private aviation, with special approach procedures due to the surrounding mountains. Those arriving by private jet often land there, and your vehicle can be waiting for you directly at the airport. For larger aircraft, the main airports remain Zurich and Milan.

Julier and Maloja open, Albula closed

The passes leading to the Engadine—the Julier Pass from Chur and the Maloja Pass from Italy—are open year-round and are the standard winter routes, although snow chains may become mandatory with heavy snowfall. The Albula Pass, however, closes with the first snowfall and reopens in late spring: this is a common mistake for those planning their trip with a GPS that doesn't account for seasonal closures. When the weather is uncertain, the Vereina shuttle train remains the safest option.

Parking in Saint Moritz

The center, St. Moritz Dorf, is built on the slope above the lake and has narrow streets and limited parking. The most convenient option is the Serletta covered parking lot, on the lakeside, connected to the center by a long escalator that emerges from the shopping streets. Many hotels offer valet parking: upon delivery, the car can be handed over directly to hotel staff.

March, the month many forget

After Christmas and February, March is the month with the longest days and still plenty of snow. The Engadin Ski Marathon, from Maloja to S-chanf, is held on the second weekend of the month, attracting thousands of cross-country skiers. During those days, the valley is packed and traffic slows. For the rest of the month, availability is greater, and the season can be enjoyed at a more leisurely pace.

FAQ

Is it better to arrive from Italy or Switzerland? From Milan, the most direct route passes through Chiavenna and Maloja, which is open year-round; from Zurich, you can reach it via the Julier Pass or by taking the Vereina train. For the return journey, we can pick up the car in a different city than the one you departed from.

Are there border controls? Yes, when entering Switzerland from Italy, and also if you continue towards Livigno, which is a duty-free zone. Have your passport or ID and vehicle documents ready.

Does anything change in the summer? A lot: all the passes reopen, and the Engadin becomes one of Europe's most beautiful driving routes. It's the season when a convertible or a supercar really makes sense.
