In Sorrento, we'll deliver the car to the entrance of your hotel on the cliff, to a villa among the citrus groves of Sant'Agnello or Massa Lubrense, or to Marina Piccola, the port from which hydrofoils depart. During the meeting, we'll walk around the car with you and explain the main controls.
The car can be returned at another location: Naples Airport, Rome, or any other European location.
Naples Airport is the main hub, about an hour and a quarter away in normal conditions. Take the highway to Castellammare di Stabia and then the Sorrento state road, which runs halfway up the hillside with views of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.
You can also pick up your car in Naples and leave from there after a few days in the city. Those arriving from Rome will need about a three-hour drive.
The Sorrento Peninsula has narrow, winding roads, often shared with buses and motorbikes. During the peak hours of the summer months, traffic to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast can be slow: it's best to leave early and return before dusk.
Sorrento's city center has a limited traffic zone, and parking spaces are limited. Many hotels have private parking or valet parking, but it's best to check when booking your room. For dinner in the center, it's often easier to leave your car at the hotel and take a taxi.
Here, the size of the car matters. A Porsche 718 Boxster or a Porsche 911 (992) 4S Cabriolet are compact enough for the coastal curves and allow for open-top driving. Those who want a Ferrari can choose the Roma Spider or the F8 Spider from the supercar range , knowing that patience is required on some stretches.
For traveling with the family, there are SUVs, like the Range Rover Sport or the Audi Q8. For a group, a wedding, or just arriving from Naples, there's the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van : it offers space for a group or a family with lots of luggage, but it requires a slow ride on the winding coastal roads.
Positano is about forty minutes away via the Colli di San Pietro pass. From there, the coastal road continues towards Praiano, Amalfi, and Ravello: the Amalfi Coast can be explored in a day, taking your time and stopping for lunch.
Staying on the Sorrento Peninsula, the road towards Massa Lubrense and Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi offers views of Capri and the gulfs of Naples and Salerno. Further on, you reach Punta Campanella, the farthest tip of the Sorrento Peninsula. Towards Naples, you can reach the Pompeii excavations in about forty minutes, and Vico Equense, with its beaches and seaside restaurants, in about twenty minutes.
Ravello, above Amalfi, is known for Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone and for its summer concerts. The road up from Amalfi is narrow but short, and from the town square you can walk to the villas.
The Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast are popular wedding destinations for many international couples. For the newlyweds, we can deliver a convertible like the Ferrari Roma Spider to the villa or hotel where the ceremony will take place, and collect it at the end of the evening.
For guests, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class van will take everyone together between the hotel, the church, and the party location: decide in advance who will drive, because the coastal roads are narrow and full of curves.
Hydrofoils depart from Marina Piccola for Capri, with crossings taking about half an hour. The island's transportation options include taxis, funiculars, and buses, so the car stays on the mainland. If you end your trip with a few days on Capri, we can pick up your car at the port before your departure.
The season runs from April to October. May, June, and September offer warm seas and less crowded roads than August, when the peninsula is at its busiest. In spring, the citrus groves are in bloom, and the air smells of lemons, the same raw material used in the locally produced limoncello. In winter, some hotels close, but the coast is quiet, and our cars always have winter tires.
