Zurich is best explored on foot: Bahnhofstrasse, lined with jewelry and watch boutiques, takes you from the station to the lake in about twenty minutes. The old town, on both banks of the Limmat River, is made up of narrow streets and small squares where a car isn't necessary. It's best to leave it in the hotel garage and use it to get out of the city.
Lucerne, with Lake Lucerne and its covered wooden bridge, is about an hour away. The Rhine Falls, near Schaffhausen, are less than an hour to the north. The road along the eastern shore of the lake, known as the "Gold Coast" for its sunshine and villas, is a short and pleasant late afternoon ride. Lake Constance is about an hour away. For a day at altitude without too much driving, Pilatus and Rigi, above Lucerne, can be reached by cable cars and cogwheel trains.
Zurich is Switzerland's leading financial center, and many clients travel there for work. For a day of meetings between the city, Zug, and Basel with colleagues or clients, a van can transport everyone together in one vehicle, and those who don't drive can work during the transfers. For those traveling alone, a sedan like the Audi RS6 or an SUV like the BMW X7 40d are discreet and comfortable.
The Gotthard Base Tunnel takes you to Lugano in about two and a half hours and to Milan in just over three. It's a popular trip for those who combine a week of skiing in Switzerland with a few days on the Italian lakes: you can pick up your car in Zurich and drop it off in Milan, without having to go back.

We also deliver and collect your car in all these directions.
For trips to the snow, with luggage, skis, and passengers, a luxury SUV with all-wheel drive is the unquestionable choice. For families, groups, or crews, a luxury van offers plenty of room for everyone and their gear; after a long flight, however, the passes should be tackled calmly and in daylight. In the city and during the warmer months, a sporty city car or compact sedan is more than enough.
